The former No1 in the world Maria Sharapova took on the new challenge. The Russian will organize an exhibition tournament, which will be held in December in Los Angeles. The race will start for the first time this year, as currently have confirmed their participation the former No1 in the world Andy Roddick, Kei Nishikori, Jack Sock, Madison Keys and Laura Robson.
"I want to do such a format in which all players to be ready for the upcoming major tournament mentioned by asian tips - Australian Open. I want to make a serious tournament, even to be with a demonstrative character, "said Sharapova.
"Sometimes when you play at a demonstration tournaments, expectations are for more show game than for a serious fight. This part of the year (December), however, is extremely important,as the Australian Open knocks on the door and everyone wants to be in an optimal shape. So my idea is to became a very serious tournament, "said also Sharapova.
At this stage it is not clear the way in which exactly will be held the race. It seems, however, Sharapova has taken very seriously the new venture.
